Check out what Jennifer Dale, one of our first LIFFT athletes, had to say about our Low Impact Functional Fitness Training (LIFFT) class! Her journey is inspiring, and yours can be too.

Here are her unedited answers to some key questions:

1. What inspired you to try the low-impact class at CoreFit Mockingbird?
"Truthfully, Sherri Tignor! She is an avid spokesperson for the Core! I will credit Phyllis Mahand for encouraging me to start the class. I had been working out at home with an online program since COVID and was beginning to need something different."

2. How did you feel before your first class, and how do you feel now?
"I was nervous about the weight lifting at first. Now, with guidance from the coaches, I am very comfortable and confident that I am doing something important for my health."

3. What was your biggest concern about starting, and how did the class address it?
"Honestly, my biggest concern was my age and fitting in, which ended up being a nonissue. Every coach and member of the class has been extremely encouraging and supportive."

4. How would you describe the atmosphere of the class and the community?
"The class is a place to physically and mentally recharge. The coaches are trained and equipped to handle the fitness needs in the class. Modifications are made for each individual as needed. Class members are very supportive and helpful. It is a welcoming community!"

5. What surprised you the most about the low-impact class?
"The surprising part of the low-impact class is how effective it is. The transformations I have seen in members of the class is proof that it works!"

6. How does the class make you feel physically and mentally?
"The class makes me feel physically and mentally stronger, and friendships and social connections within the class are an added benefit."

7. What’s your favorite part of the class?
"It’s hard to choose a favorite part of the class because I like the challenge of the lifting, but working hard on a Metcon is fun, too."

8. How has this class improved your daily life or physical activities outside the gym?
"The class has given me the energy and strength to do all kinds of physical activity daily, including walking and golf."

9. Would you recommend this class to someone new to fitness? Why?
"I would definitely recommend this class to someone new to fitness. You never know what you can do until you start!! Come and join us!! We are all works in progress!!"

10. Can you share a moment in the class when you felt proud or accomplished?
"I feel accomplished every time I set a new personal record, but every workout brings a feeling of accomplishment."

11. What would you say to someone who is nervous about starting?
"I would tell someone who is nervous about starting that the coaches will start you where you are, encourage you every day, and you will be surprised at what you can accomplish if you stick with it long enough to see and feel the difference the program makes. Also, do not compare yourself to others who have been in the class for months or even years."

12. How does the class help you stay consistent in your fitness routine?
"This class has given me a time, a place, and a purpose, which has added to my fitness routine."

Whether you're new to fitness or looking for a sustainable, low-impact way to stay active, LIFFT is a welcoming space to grow stronger physically and mentally.
