Q: How long have you been part of our Core fam?
B: 2 years
Q: Did you have any concerns about CrossFit before you began?
L: Yes, I was very intimidated and felt like I wasn’t “athlete” enough to do it.
A: Yes, I have had back pain for 5 years and thought that it would be too harsh for me.
Q: What made you give The Core a try?
A: i started because friends from The Core invited me.
L: i joined in to be supportive of Adam and because there was childcare. 😜
Q: What do you love the most about being a part of The Core?
B: We love the community. We are also in much better health and feeling great. We love that it has become a part of our daily life and has actually added more structure to our busy schedules. We also love that our kids will hopefully grow up watching us set a healthy example for them.
Q: Do you prefer to workout in the same class as your spouse? Why or why not?
B: It’s not always feasible, but we love to work out with each other. It’s fun to compete with each other and make flirty eyes across the room at each other. 😍 Regardless of being in the same class, it gives us something else to talk about and a “hobby” to share in.
Q: Are you competitive with your spouse?
B: We are competitive with things that we are somewhat equal with. We both have our strengths and weaknesses and there is no point in competing in something that is a weakness for one and a strength for the other. It’s always fun to have a friendly competition.
Q: Has CrossFit at the Core had any impact on your marriage or family life?
B: Yes, having this in common has given us one more thing in common in our marriage. We feel better and have more energy to play with the kids at the end of the day. We are happier with ourselves which makes us our whole family happier in general.
Q: What is your favorite CrossFit movement/element?
A: Pull-ups, and toes to bar
L: Running, power cleans, and dumbbell movements
Q: What is your least favorite CrossFit movement/element?
A: Squats
L: Overhead squats
Q: What is your CrossFit/health goal this coming year?
A: Improve my squat game, muscle up, get a little leaner
L: Improve on pull-ups and double unders
Anything extra you want to share?
B: If you think that CrossFit is not for you, just try it! We felt like we weren’t “right” for it and it has been the best thing we have done for ourselves and our family!
